The library reports that EBSCO and IEEE will be holding a free, face-to-face event in Portugal, ideal for researchers who want to publish in IEEE journals and maximise the impact of their research.
The event, ‘Develop Your Research CV: IEEE Workshop for Authors’, is dedicated to exploring key strategies for scientific publication and maximising the impact of your research.
This workshop will provide practical insights into the publication process and help researchers improve their chances of success in IEEE journals and other scientific publications. Although the session will briefly cover the open access options available, the main focus will be on structuring academic articles, choosing the right journal and best practices for publication.
Key questions will be addressed, such as:
- How to increase the visibility and impact of your research
- Tips and best practices for improving your chances of publication
- What editors and reviewers look for in a manuscript
- The main reasons why articles are rejected
- How to choose the most suitable journal for your research
- Warning signs to avoid predatory journals
- Open access options available at IEEE for authors and institutions
- Search strategies in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library
- IEEE tools for authors and to promote open science
- Live Q&A session with experts

The events* are free but require prior registration.
