Integrated in the physical area of the Álvaro de Campos Special Library, it is a special collection focused on politics, economics, history and literature from Latin American countries.
As a whole, it has fundamental works for in-depth research and investigation, acquired over time, mostly by the director of the Nucleus of Latin American Studies (NELA), Prof. Ana Toscano, and by exchanging works with other national and international entities.
This collection includes books and about 30 titles of periodicals, among which “Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos”, “Bulletin of Latin American research: journal of the Society for Latin American Studies” and “Journal of Politics in Latin America” stand out.
In this context, other NELA publications are also made available through our Institutional Repository:
- It offers a consultation and home loan service, which must be requested and registered at the Fernando Pessoa Library, preferably 24 hours in advance.
- Bibliographic Catalogue (The call number of the works belonging to this collection starts with the acronym NELA).
- User guidance in locating information resources.
