Library’s Training Sessions

Our Library’s training sessions are part of an Information Literacy Project, which aims at providing the academic community with the necessary skills for the best use of UFP’s subscribed electronic resources.

We offer three types of training, tailored for target audience:

Initial training

Target audience: bachelor degrees’ students, preferably 1st years’

Goals: introduction to Library’s rules, services and resources

Syllabus: Library presentation; Web page; Services and Resources; Explore our Bibliographic Catalogue, our Institutional Repositories and b-On

Duration: About 1h30

These sessions are carried out in classroom environment and must be booked by the teacher, through filling the appropriate Form or by e-mail to biblioteca@ufp.edu.pt.

Advanced training

Target audience: bachelor degrees’ senior students, master and PhD students

Goals: identifying and exploring electronic resources and tools

Syllabus: contents previously agreed according to research field and study level or upon specific request

Duration: About 1h30

These sessions can be carried out in two different settings:

Classroom environment: must be booked by the teacher, through filling the appropriate Form or by e-mail to biblioteca@ufp.edu.pt.

Library’s Training Room: mandatory application by e-mail to bib.formacao@ufp.edu.pt, limited to 8 seats, in accordance with the timetable set.

Training sessions upon request and Specific training sessions

Target audience: teachers and researchers

Goals: introducing and exploring Library’s catalogue, resources and tools

Syllabus: upon specific request

Duration: About 1h30

These sessions can be carried out at the Library’s Training Room and are limited to 8 seats.
